SCA is looking for qualified applicants to lead Conservation Crews for Jewish teenagers
SCA’s Conservation Crews for Jewish Students provide participants with an opportunity to spend a month working on an SCA Conservation Crew while gaining a deeper understanding of the Judaic connection to the environment as they grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.
As a Crew Leader you will work with a co-leader in a residential front or backcountry setting leading a crew of six, Jewish high school students. Jewish teenagers will be recruited from around the country to participate in this and unique opportunity to work with a land management agency accomplishing valuable projects, learning outdoor skills, and making a difference. You will be a positive role model to your crew members, helping to create a community while living and working in the outdoors. Tentative Crew sites are New Hampsire State Parks and Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
During the program all food will be kosher vegetarian and kosher cookware will be provided. Work, rest and travel days will be scheduled so that Shabbat can be observed.
