PanimWorks: Southwest is a unique a collaboration between PANIM and Deer Hill Expeditions. This program brings diverse groups of Jewish high school students from across the country to participate in challenging and transformative exploration of Judaism, community service, and activism. The experience focuses on direct service, Jewish learning, and cultural exchange. Participants serve on the Navajo, Hopi or Zuni Nations in a rustic and majestic outdoor education experience. Each PanimWorks group is comprised of two Deer Hill staff, one Panimworks staff, and 12 to 15 participants.

PANIM Instructors
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the Jewish Educator in a 3-person staff team alongside 2 outdoor educators
• Implement Jewish service-learning modules around themes including Jewish approaches to service, social justice, environmental issues, and cross-cultural exchange
• Organize the Shabbat experience
• Facilitate morning prayer options as necessary
• Integrate Jewish ideas and practices into the fabric of the program
Qualifications:
• Must have experience in informal educational settings (classroom, camps, tours, Israel programs, etc.)
• Must have passion for Jewish education and experience working with teens
• Must have a personal commitment to Jewish life and social justice issues
• Must have a commitment to Jewish pluralism
• Outdoor education experience a plus
